alexander versus james

the shoe on the left is part of alexander mcqueen’s spring/summer 2010 line shown at the pret a porter show in paris last october. the creature on the right is from james cameron’s 1979 hit movie alien. if i had to choose one of these to be in my closet while i slept at night, well, that would be a hard choice. i’m going to have to go with james cameron’s alien though because at least since i’ve seen the film, and i know how to destroy it. whereas this thing on the left here, well that’s an evil not yet even available in stores.
behind the scenes: while writing this blog a spider the size of a spec of dust landed on my oversized sweater. i promptly jumped up, took off my sweater and shook it while throwing potentially the biggest hissy fit in the entire world. unable to locate the spider, i then whispered to myself in fear, “now it’s angry”. so i’m not feeling too much like ripley with a grappling gun right now.

Spider stories are my favorite. Though I’d actually also prefer Alien to both this shoe and the angry sweater dust spider.
It’s not James Cameron’s Alien, it is a Giger. He created the “Giger Alien” for James Cameron and has several paintings dedicated to the seires.
I was cracking up laughing as I read this post! I would have to agree with you on it being a hard choice on what I’d want in my closet as I slept. I am not sure what Concierge Dr. Alexander McQueen has been using but he must be on some serious prescriptions! He has some of the seasons ugliest shoes ever! I personally think they are a joke and he’s waiting to see how many people are going to buy them so he can laugh all the way to the bank. A 10″ heel? Really? Really?
I’d take both Alien and the spider over these shoes.
Although, I’m sure if Syfy starts playing actual science fiction anytime soon, we’ll see these alien babies everywhere. Only on extraterrestrial strippers, though.
Because only in crap scifi will one have the ability to erase the distracting flesh-colored/transparent straps.
